Each year when planning the budget, Councillors allocate a certain amount of money to each ward for special projects. Any money which isn’t spent is rolled on to the next year, so that individual wards can save for larger projects such as the clock on the roundabout at Beddau Square, the Youth Shelter in Talbot Green and the refurbishment of Mount Pleasant Gardens in Beddau. The planting and maintenance costs for the hanging baskets and planters as well as the Christmas decorations also come from project money. In the past project money has paid for commemorative stones, benches and wayside trees as well as more mundane but necessary items like grit bins and road humps. If you have an idea for a project which could benefit the community, please get in touch with your local councillor, or contact the Council Office.
